Our children’s ministry is a vital part of Maranatha House’s mission, focusing on nurturing the spiritual and physical growth of the youngest members of the communities we serve. Children are not just the future—they are the present, and investing in their well-being creates a ripple effect of hope and faith that extends to entire families and communities.

The children’s ministry operates on multiple levels, ranging from educational programs to spiritual mentorship. One of our key approaches involves hosting special children’s sessions during our crusades and outreaches. These sessions feature vibrant activities, including storytelling, worship songs, and creative arts, all centered around biblical lessons. The goal is to make the gospel relatable and exciting for children, instilling values of kindness, faith, and resilience at an early age.

  • Example: During a recent outreach in Ohen Village, we hosted a three-day children’s program alongside our main crusade. Over 500 children attended, many of whom had never been part of a structured learning or worship environment before. Each day began with lively worship sessions, followed by interactive Bible stories and group discussions. Crafts and games were integrated into the lessons, allowing children to express their creativity while learning about God’s love.

One particularly impactful story came from Blessing, a 10-year-old girl who had experienced severe trauma due to the loss of her father. Initially shy and withdrawn, Blessing slowly opened up during the sessions. She was deeply moved by the story of Joseph and how he overcame hardship through faith in God. Inspired by the lesson, she shared her feelings with one of our volunteers and received prayer and encouragement. By the end of the program, Blessing’s demeanor had transformed. Her newfound joy and confidence inspired her mother to attend the evening gospel service, where she also encountered God’s transformative love.

Beyond these programs, our children’s ministry also provides practical support, such as distributing school supplies, hygiene kits, and clothing. During one of our missions in Lagos, we partnered with local organizations to donate over 1,000 backpacks filled with educational materials. This initiative not only empowered children to pursue their education but also reinforced the message that they are valued and loved.

The long-term impact of our children’s ministry is evident in the stories of transformation we continue to witness. Many children who participated in our programs years ago are now active members of their churches, some even serving as youth leaders and mentors to others. By reaching children at a young age, we lay a foundation for a lifetime of faith and purpose.

Our vision for the children’s ministry is to expand its reach, incorporating more comprehensive programs such as mentorship initiatives, scholarship opportunities, and health education campaigns. We believe that by equipping the next generation with spiritual and practical tools, we can create a brighter future for entire communities.

Reaching children is not just an act of service; it is an investment in the kingdom of God. At Maranatha House, we remain committed to ensuring that every child we encounter experiences the love of Christ in a tangible and lasting way.
